Skyhawks Beach Volleyball
Beach volleyball for kids in landlocked Lodi sounds odd, but Skyhawks runs it on the sand courts at Hutchins Street Square. Two levels: beginner for ages 5-8 and intermediate for ages 7-13. Sessions start in April through Lodi Parks and Rec. Lodi parents pick this when their kid wants to try volleyball but is too young for school teams, when they want a niche sport that has not been overrun by every kid in their grade, or when they want a Spring activity that gets the kid outside before summer heat sets in. Sand surface is easier on knees than gym floor work.
