Youth golf in Lodi at a very low entry barrier ($70-80 per 6-week session). First Tee is a national nonprofit that runs out of Micke Grove Golf Links in Lodi, with equipment provided so families do not need to buy clubs to try it. The curriculum is half golf fundamentals (grip, stance, swing, putting) and half "life skills" framing (sportsmanship, respect, integrity) — that combination is a deliberate part of the First Tee model nationally. Lodi parents pick this when they have a kid curious about golf but they do not want to commit hundreds to gear and country club fees, when they want a structured outdoor activity that runs in the cooler late-summer/fall months, or when they want a non-team-sport option that still has a peer group. Ages 5-17, beginner through advanced levels.
