The City of Lodi Parks and Recreation Department runs one of the most comprehensive youth sports programs in San Joaquin County. Overview
Lodi Parks and Rec youth sports programs are run in partnership with the Boosters of Boys and Girls Sports (BOBS) – a volunteer-led organization that has served Lodi youth for over 60 years. Together they offer recreational sports for kids from age 3 all the way through high school. All registration is handled online through the City of Lodi's ActiveNet portal at apm.activecommunities.com/lodipandrhss. Tot Sports (Ages 3-6)
Tot Sports is the City's intro sports program for toddlers and preschoolers. Sessions are 6 weeks with game days only – no separate practices. Four sports rotate throughout the year:
- Tot Soccer Session 1 – Registration December through February, games March through April
- Tot T-Ball – Registration December through April, games May through June
- Tot Soccer Session 2 – Registration April through June, games July through August
- Tot Basketball – Registration July through August, games September through October
Ages 3 to 6 | Cost: approximately $45 to $60 per session | Space is limited – register early or join the waitlist
Youth Soccer (Ages 5-14)
Co-ed recreational soccer through the City of Lodi Parks and Rec. Teams are formed by age group and all skill levels are welcome. Volunteer coaches are needed each season.
Ages 5 to 14 | Season: Spring | Games: Saturdays at DeBenedetti Park, 14226 Lower Sacramento Rd | Cost: $85 | Registration opens in winter, closes in early spring
Junior Basketball Leagues (Grades K-6)
Co-ed recreational basketball with three grade-based divisions – grades K-1, grades 2-3, and grades 4-6. All divisions run as a 12-week program with practices and games Monday through Thursday evenings at Lodi gyms.
Ages 5 to 12 | Season: Winter | Cost: approximately $75 | Registration opens August
Comet Basketball for grades 7-8 is also available through BOBS in partnership with the City. Same schedule and facilities. Registration opens August.
Junior Volleyball Leagues (Ages 8-13)
Two divisions – ages 8-10 and ages 11-13. 8-week program with practices and games on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

Youth Tennis Classes (Ages 6-17)
Beginner through advanced levels offered monthly year-round at American Legion Park, 835 S Hutchins St. Courts have evening lighting available.

Youth Running Club (Ages 6-14)
Spring running program through the City of Lodi. Builds endurance, social skills, and fitness.

Jr. Lifeguard Camp (Ages 10-15)
Summer camp focusing on water safety, rescue skills, first aid, and teamwork. Great preparation for future lifeguard certification.

Summer Swim League (Ages 6-17)
Recreational summer swim team with Friday dual meets leading to the Brian M. Stocker Championships. Must be able to swim 25 yards unassisted. Spots fill up fast.

Skyhawks Sports Academy (Ages 2-14)
The City of Lodi registers Skyhawks Sports Academy sessions monthly throughout the year at Hutchins Street Square. Programs include soccer, flag football, cheer, Pickleball Youth League (ages 7-14), Beach Volleyball (ages 5-13), and SuperTots multi-sport (ages 2-5). Sessions run most months of the year. Register through the City of Lodi ActiveNet portal.
Programs Run by BOBS Through the City
BOBS Baseball and Softball – Spring season, ages 4-14. Registration opens January, closes February 15. Cost $100 to $175. Financial assistance available.
Lodi Colts Football and Cheer – Fall season, ages 6-13. Registration opens around May. Football cost $250 plus $50 refundable deposit. Cheer cost $465.
Comet Basketball – Winter season, grades 7-8. Registration opens August.

Beyond sports the City of Lodi also offers year-round specialty classes at Hutchins Street Square, 125 S Hutchins St:
- Youth Ballet, Tap, and Hip Hop – Ages 3-17, $55 to $90 per session
- Piano Lessons – Ages 5-17, $50 to $80 per session
- Mommy and Me Music – Ages 2-5, approximately $40 per session
- Martial Arts – Ages 5-17, $60 to $80 per session
- LEGO STEAM Program – Ages 4-12, approximately $50 per session
- Art and Painting Classes – Ages 5-15, $45 to $65 per session
- Culinary Classes for Kids – Ages 6-14, varies
